One day, my friend Mayowa and I were telling funny family stories. As we were on the topic of relationships, we realized that we both had similar "coming out as straight" experiences. This story all begins one Christmas when I came home from college. My mother had a special talk with me concerning my love life. Growing up with midwestern parents, I could see her concern as most of my friends were getting engaged or were in serious relationships. But little did she know, I was just really focused on school and extracurricular activities.
